Welcome to the Amelia Island Paddle Surf Company. I am Bobby Greene, founder and lead guide. I want to briefly introduce myself and the company. I grew up as an Army brat and lived across the US and in Europe. Spending the bulk of my childhood in Georgia, I attended the University of Georgia earning a bachelor and masters degree in environmental health and ethics. I was also a member of the Georgia Bulldog football team. Go Dawgs!
I have been visiting Amelia Island as a vacation destination since the mid 1990s. My family was fortunate enough to move to Amelia Island permanently back in 2012. As an avid surfer, freediver, kite surfer, and paddler, and now wing surfer, I like to think of myself as a true waterman in every sense of the word. Calling Amelia Island our home together with my in-depth knowledge of the environment and passion for the outdoors Amelia Island Paddle Surf Company was born.
It is our mission to share, celebrate, and preserve all this wonderful island has to offer from the deck of a standup paddle (SUP) board. With top of the line equipment and certified instructors and guides we strive to make your paddle boarding experience a memorable one. We hope you join us.

I would also like to introduce my sister Kristie as a lead guide. She started paddling the backwaters of Amelia Island with me back in 2018 and fell in love with the area immediately. She developed her passion for all things water by working on boats for over 8 years.
Kristie earned her 100 Ton Masters while crewing commercial fishing boats in Alaska, tugboats up and down the Atlantic, and sailing the waters from Maine to South America. Upon retiring from sea life, she ran a Michelin Starred restaurant company in NYC and started a family. She and her two kids proudly call this beautiful little island home.
LESSON & TOUR

Learning to SUP is truly a beginning. It opens doors to a wide variety of paddling experiences from lakes, to rivers and marshes, from flat water to epic waves, and more. Paddle boarding is considered one of the best and most refreshing ways to stay fit.
All our instructors are ACA SUP certified and experienced at teaching first timers. Your first SUP lesson will include paddling on calm, flat water to get you going. Amelia Island is one of the best places to paddle board in Florida and has plenty of great places with perfect conditions for a paddle boarding lesson. We will supply a stable board, properly sized paddle, inflatable PFD belt, and a coiled SUP leash.
For each SUP lesson, you will start on the beach and learn about the equipment, proper technique, where to stand on the board and how to start. From there you will be on the SUP board and paddling in no time. Once on the board you will learn forward and sweeping strokes, stopping and bracing. When you are ready, we head out to do some exploring and sight seeing. Time spent on the board is key to becoming a proficient paddle boarder.

All paddle board tours start with a SUP safety briefing and some basic paddling instruction on land. Along the way the we will describe the ecosystem, point out local wildlife and share tidbits about the history of the area.
Each tour is about 2 hours. We supply a stable board, properly sized paddle, inflatable PFD belt, and a coiled SUP leash. The specific tour we do on each day is determined by the tide and weather conditions.
